What do you think?

I feel inspired by the Daily Affirmation’s post today. Would anyone be interested in participating in a Lowcountry Blog Jam float in next year’s parade? Just thinking out loud here.

Tuesday Morning

Kimburrkay flies away (vicariously anyway).

I give up on sports… sort of.

Post-Thanksgiving Around the Blogs

Not much going on in the blogs lately. My own blog is devoid of entries, mostly because I’ve been so busy over the holiday, I’m sure that’s everyone else’s excuse too. Anyway...

WC has an interesting (and blunt) opinion about the holiday shopping season kick-off, while the Daily Affirmation shares that opinion and expounds upon it visually. Neither are very “Christmassy”, but both are brutally, even comically honest.

Update

The updates have been hard to come by as we all find ourselves busy with holiday preparations, parties, etc. Here’s a brief rundown.

Kimburrkay takes flight.

New Blog Jam Member

The Cosmopolitan Charlestonian documents a couple who decide to turn in the keys to their Jaguar for city bus passes. Granted, they aren’t quite local, but they’re just down the road and that’s what the “beyond” is for anyway. I admire their “drive” to follow their ideas through with positive action. When they asked to be part of the Blog Jam I couldn’t refuse. Welcome to the fracas Harry & Stacey.

Weekend Review

These cool, crisp mornings and pleasantly mild afternoons… I’m starting to better understand why people are moving here in droves.

Something is driving Courtney crazy.

Kimburrkay is gearing up to help a few hounds.

Happy Hump-day

Dang it done got cold outside. Who’s ready for summer? Anyone?

The school district is slapping hands (potentially a good thing) too bad everyone gets slapped (probably not so good). Read more about it here.

Tuesday Morning

Though Halloween is done... kind of like that rotten pumpkin on your neighbor's porch... WC warns us that Vampire Season is only just beginning.

And the Daily Affirmation is still sore over the time change. I couldn't agree more.

Only 6 more days until Monday...

Weekend Review

Is anyone missing Daylight Savings Time yet? I know I will right around 5pm.

WC is feeling mellow.

Courtney might never be southern, but honestly after reading her blog, I might not be either.

Kimburrkay takes a trip down memory lane.

And finally,

The Daily Affirmation may have to consider a drug policy.

Fall is in the air

It's rather crisp outside, which only seems fitting.

Kimburrkay reveals some trick or treating tips for next year. Duly noted.

Meanwhile...

The Daily Affirmation reminds us it's time to fall back.

All’s quiet on the Blog-front

There’s not a whole lot going on around the Blog Jam today (unless you count my YouTube adventures or the Daily Affirmation word quiz), but I would like to take the opportunity to extend an open invitation to the many visitors perusing the site who have a blog or want to start a blog to join us here.

I’ll need the blog URL and a brief description of what your blog is all about. The biggest advantage to authoring your own personal blog is the total control of your blog’s content (posts and comments). That means you can talk about whatever you like, uncensored and troll-free. One caveat I need to mention, just because you submit a blog doesn’t mean it’ll get accepted and just because it gets accepted doesn’t mean it’ll get mentioned regularly.

I’m not trying to scare anyone off by putting it that way, but I realize there are folks out there looking to use the blog medium in a way that the Blog Jam is not necessarily willing to support. Comment here or drop me an email if you have any questions. hatterlives@hotmail.com

All Saints’ Day Aftermath

Viva El Halloween `07!!! Man oh man, why does traipsing around the neighborhood and passing out a little candy throughout the night make it feel like it should be Friday already?

Courtney makes an attempt to get on the straight and narrow.

The Daily Affirmation must have had a "bang up" Halloween.

Trick or Treat

All’s quiet around the blogs this Halloween. Maybe folks are resting up in anticipation of some ghoulish debauchery or perhaps they’re busy filing those horns down so the halo will fit. I can only speculate.

The Daily Affirmation has yet another Halloween inspired entry.

Today’s Movie is The Haunting .

I went and did it.

There was more than a little trepidation involved, but that’s the thing about knowledge, it usually leaves you feeling worse than you did when you were blissfully ignorant. I don’t have anything against anyone at any newspaper and I actually wanted to bring the Savannah Morning News into the fold, but I couldn’t obtain copies. So there you have it. Check out my newspaper grades blog post and let the hate mail begin.

Otherwise,

The Daily Affirmation attempts to lighten the mood with a bit of Halloween inspired humor.

Weekend Roundup

The weather spared us from the wet stuff (yes we need it, but anyway).

WC is tired.

Courtney delves into baseball.

Kimburrkay has been assimilated.

And last but not least, I didn't actually post on it, but I did attend the Hardeeville Festival over the weekend. It was a welcome change of pace compared to the events I've attended in and around Bluffton. There was a car show, lots of food, vendors, and entertainment for adults and the kids. It reminded me of small-town fairs you see on TV, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Let’s Get Evil

There’s lots of festivals and get-togethers scheduled for this weekend. Hopefully the weather will hold off and keep everyone dry.

Kimburrkay says it’s no trick, she’ll have all the good stuff come Halloween.

While the Daily Affirmation reminds us to eat healthily.

Meanwhile...

WC isn’t hard to keep happy, and claims she’s not a “vindictive bitch” but then goes on to profess:

“It gives me such visceral pleasure to sink my claws into someone's arrogant, supercilious, self-righteous, twisted little soul and to suck the last drop of blood out of it.”

Let’s all be good from now on... And eat our vegetables too (and save the candy for when nobody’s looking)

Rounding out the "Evil" theme, Friday’s Movie is 13 Ghosts

Must be Something in the Air

It seems we're all reflecting on our lives lately. Kimburrkay pleads for us to slow down. Courtney learns a thing or two and I explore why it’s so hard to say goodbye.

Traveling around the blogs

Fresh back from Hawaii, yet another brave soul has joined the roll. Check out Kimburrkay's Corner of the World.

Courtney goes for a three-peat.

And I went to TGI3rd Friday.

Blogroll Round-up

Ok, this is a dry run, some of the posts are a bit dated, but that will get better with participation. Here goes…

It’s Friday. Thank god. TGI3rdF is today (if the weather cooperates). Around the blogs:

Courtney explores Reality TV

WC makes a case for being unafraid

skinizin shows why it’s important to keep kitty happy.

And today’s Classic Film Friday Movie is The Invisible Man

Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Dejected

I’ve scoured over at least 200-300 blogger blogs and of those I’d say about 75% have less than 2 posts. One guy had 9 blogs, almost all of them blank. What was he thinking? Even the spam-o-licious real estate blogs are barren. Of the remaining blogs, most were dead, with the most recent posts 6 months old or earlier. That narrowed it down to about 4 or 5 blogs with regular updated posts. This is harder than I thought it would be but as we used to say in the Army, “if it were easy, anybody could do it.”

So here it is. The 2nd post. The blogroll has just surpassed a majority of the local blogosphere in posts and punctuality. Which isn’t saying much, but at least it says something.

The Daily Affirmation is just the thing to take your mind off of your frustrations. Watch out for frogs.

Testing...1,2,3

The site is still in its relative infancy. In fact it is yet to be named. The folks in the link list have submitted their blogs to be added. There are several others who have shown interest but either have not provided a link or their permission for this site to link to their blog. You don’t get listed unless you want to be listed.

Eventually we’ll have summaries listed and we’ll spotlight individual blogs on a regular/daily basis.

If you’ve got a blog and you’re on the fence, I’ll put it like this… you went through all that trouble writing and posting your thoughts online for a reason, why not see it to fruition?
